I don't understand it, but I love it

I've been reading stories by George MacDonald lately, stories from a book of stories given to me by a Queen. And while the Princess/Curdie stories are pretty straightforward, it's the tortuous ones I love. Phantastes, At the Back of the North Wind and Lilith are, well, I think I said it best in a comment I left at The Literary Lab today:
I love reading books that are utterly immersive, that engross you entire, and when you are birthed back from that other world, you don't know what it meant or how it worked, but you remember that it was beautiful and deep and worthwhile.

Michelle-

I think you should. I don't know whether your daughter would enjoy the Princess/Curdie stories, but I plan on reading them to my daughter when she's a bit older.

I've included a link to the omnibus I'm reading.
